Warwick Johnston, ND, MS
Dr. Johnston earned a BA in zoology with a minor in neuroscience at Miami University in 2010. He then went on to attend graduate school at Wake Forest University, where he studied physiology and pharmacology, and graduated with a Master of Science degree in biomedical science in 2013. His coursework and research focused on the neuroanatomy/physiology and behavioral pharmacology of mental health conditions such as addiction, depression, and PTSD. Dr. Johnston attended medical school at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and graduated with his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree in 2017. While in medical school he was involved with research on both: Botanical Extracts for treating Infectious Diseases, and Comorbid Chronic Pain & PTSD in a veteran population. After medical school, Dr. Johnston completed a Naturopathic Medicine residency focused on family medicine and pain management in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dr. Johnston has a great passion for researching and treating mental health conditions. He is a member of the board of directors for the Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Also, he heads their research group, which is focused on evaluating best practices within a naturopathic approach to various psychiatric conditions. Dr. Johnston strives to treat patients experiencing mental health challenges using various natural substances and avoids using medications whenever possible.
Dr. Johnston is also passionate about helping patients get out of chronic pain. He is tried several different regenerative medicine techniques that help to address the pain by stimulating the body to heal itself. Like with mental health, he avoids using medications whenever possible by using targeted therapies that are either topical or are delivered right to wherever there is tissue damage, or the pain is coming from.
Dr. Johnston joined TLC in 2022 and is excited to begin working with its patients! He is accepting new adult patients of any age or gender. He also sees people under 18, depending on the circumstances.
