Dr. Majid has always wanted to be a doctor from the time she was very young. Her brother is 15 years younger than her and he got very sick at the time she got her acceptance to medical school. They almost lost him and she felt more than ever, she needed to be in this field. She started in internal medicine thinking she’d know a good amount of things about general adult medicine. Since graduating from residency in 2016, Dr. Majid has been practicing as a hospitalist and is currently doing contract work with Princeton Hospital. Prior to the pandemic, she realized she wasn’t really helping people get better, at least from a chronic illness perspective. The same patients would return week after week.

She knew there was something more she could be doing and that’s when she discovered the integrative medicine fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. During her fellowship, she was exposed to functional, integrative, ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, as well as homeopathy. She treated patients with hormone imbalances using BHRT and learned the various uses of peptides. Dr. Majid is very familiar and comfortable with stool analysis and nutrition evaluations, as well as nutraceuticals and what to recommend in place of Rx’s. In addition to treating hormone imbalances, she is also very interested in working with patients helping them treat other chronic illnesses, gut health, auto-immune disorders and weight loss.

Dr. Majid is near completion of her fellowship in Obesity medicine. She has a few lectures left and then will sit for her board certification in 2024. She feels it will complement nicely with integrative and functional medicine. Working with patients in a multimodal treatment plan to tackle obesity is a passion of hers. She hopes to work in a practice where this is offered along with health coaching and nutrition counseling.

For fun she likes to travel. She has been to Thailand, Northern Thailand Elephant Sanctuary, South Africa, the Galapagos Islands, and a lot of random places. She enjoys writing and writing poetry. She also started her own company, similar to a hedge fund, geared toward physicians and high earners. She has a lot of interest in the stock market and trades options.
